Seriously, child molesters always look like child molesters. They never look respectable. They always look like the kind of people that if you passed in the street you would think, "That person looks like a child molester."

I'd guess because they are creepy people...
They spend more time thinking about kids then thinking about looking presentable.

Flannel shirt, unmarked van, clean school boy cut, lisp...hehe...yeah Law & Order and movies have done a damn good job of making the stereotype easily accessible to our minds.
Last night I was watching the Butterfly Effect (while quite warped) for the first time and immediately when Kaylie's father appeared I could tell he was a child molestor...weird stuff.
I've known of a few that weren't so obvious...a teacher for example from my High School. However, another one you could see it from a mile away. I guess there are extreme child molestors and then ones that blend in, like any other labeled group of people.

TRUE FUCKING STORY---------------When I was in school, about fifth grade, this freakbag looking old man asked my friends and I to "help me move some boxes". We looked at him and flatly said no. He said "come on theyre just down in behind that van over there." When we said no again he told us to fuck off and we told our principal and he got arrested about 3 hours later. turns out this guy was a wanted child pornographer. creepy.

when i was in highschool we had this health/gym/wrestling coach... i knew there was something about him that was shady.. he wore a wig that made him look like a penis.. well after i graduated, the dude was arrested for trying to meet up with a little boy online, so he could have sex with him.
i remember in our health class, he made us listen to music with our heads down... if someone looked up hed yell at them to put their heads back down. another funny story was when we were doing football for gym... the coach would get in the way a little, and my one friend slid directly between his legs
