Alright, so I'm vacationing in Florida this week, and I am very much aware of the abundance of datura in this state. I am not interested in the consumption of this plant, I would just like to grow it. This is more for the sake of curiosity than anything.

Anywho, I've happened upon a plant with prickly, purplish green bulbs. The problem is, is that it looks nothing like the plants seen in the image vault on erowid. The bulbs however, look just like the ones in the pictures. There are no flowers on this plant and it is really more of a tree, about 8 feet high. The branches and main stalk are no more that 2 inches around.

The root of this post is that erowid says that there are many different types of datura plants, not just the ones featured on the site. What would you say based off of this? Are there any tell-tale signs I can look for? Does this plant perhaps also contain the active constituents of the more well known datura species? Thanks for any input!
