Datura ID needed

I have a flowering plant on the lot next to mine and I'm 90% sure it's datura. I wish I had the means to post a picture of it. It has the typical trumpet flower, one per branch. The flower color is orange with stripes on the inside. There are many of what I initially took to be seed pods hanging from the vines. They are green and look like a fattened and elongated pea pod. These are 4-5 inches long and are growing out of what used to be flowers. I cut one open and it contained no seeds, but material similar to pine cone seeds(the leafy part), but no identifiable seeds. How/when do the seed pods form?

What do the leaves look like? To me it sound like just a trumpet creeper. Its a type of hummingbird vine.
