ok, i have some myc. honeywater started in a 1/2 quart jar. been going for about a week or so now in 82 degree water bath, its gettin pretty cloudy too. my idea is this: make a whole bunch of the stuff and drink it! i was just wondering about potency and if i added tryptamine from spoiled milk would it help increase potency in the myc. starting in the water? my idea is to take a big 5 gallon gatorade/drink dispenser and mix up some honeywater in there and dump teh 1/2 quart jar in there. i know that would grow a whole bunch of mycellum in 10 days but would it be worth it? maybe if i extracted the psilicin/psilocybin somehow [cranberry juice]? i dont really want to go thru that, it would be great if i could just go up when i wanted to and pour a drink, you know? just wondering on your thoughts on this and if anyone can give me an idea on the potency of growing honeywater, like would i have to drink a gallon of it to hit a level 2 trip, and/or is there anything that i could mix in to the jug to help growth (maybe a 1/4 cup of brf also?) any cooments/criticism welcome. im just thinking...

lazy person. why don't you use it to grow shrooms to eat. are you that impatient?

Darlene: "Oh come now, I don't look anything like James Brown."
Ted: "Hey kids, who does your mom look like in the morning?"
Kids... in unison: "James Brown!"
Darlene, "All right, thats enough... It's poison spaghetti for dinner tonight."

i think you should grow the mushrooms but anyways if you wanna make a shroomy drink in the lycaeum you can find a shroom mead recipe... i've never tried but i think it fits your ideas...
i hate witty sigs / if anything i say has something in common with reality, this is a merely a coincidence.

okay, its like this. during the life cycle of mushrooms, the spores germinate. this is stimulated by simple sugars like those found in honey. honey also contains antibiotic components that help prevent contamination before you get started, othrwise, it would be better to use Stamet's method and use molasses.
now the truth is any mycelium, even in honey water will contain some active indoles. BUT, back to the mushroom life cycle. as the mycelium matures, it produces chemicals that help it to break down more complicated food, like cellulose. somewhere along the line, nobody has published anythin on it that i know of, but somehwere in there, as the mycelium matures and gets ready to make babies, the individual cells become multinucleat. they have more than one nucleus in a single cell, preparatory to explosive growth.
in magic mushroom species, there is a realationship between the multinucleat cells and the content of indoles. it may simply be a result of metabolism of more complex food. BUT, if you expect to get any significant amount of active indoles from mycelium, you will not get it from mycelium that have been feeding on simple sugars like those found in honey.
there are methods you can read online for breeding a richer mess, that involves using potatoe starch or beef broth. i have not heard of using spoiled milk. i doubt it would work, cuz of too much contam.
