Thanks Enter!~
Can we keep this plane on the ground?
I don't trust Trendel to fly this thing!~
lolzz

Quote:

Enter: Let's get some background on you first. Who are you and what's your life been about?

It's been a long life...so far.
At least it seems that way.

I'm 44 years old...I'll be 45 on April 20th.
I grew up in West Seattle down at Alki Beach...a very nice area of Seattle.

I was a terrible student...I hated going to school.
My father started acting up when I was 9 years old...he ended up having manic depression...very bad case of it...he would go completely insane.
He would re-live Pearl Harbour...he was there when the Japs bombed us...and it was like he went back in time and was there again...wonder what kind of drugs he was doing...whatever they were...they must have been killer!~
This was hard on me and my Mother...but it brought me and my mother closer together.
So I starting using drugs at an early age...skipping school...and raising hell.
I ran away from home several times...due to my father flipping out.

I started smoking ciggarettes...at age 9 or 10.
I started smoking weed at age 10.
First Acid trip was at 13.
First time I tripped on mushrooms I was 16...they were Liberty Caps.
Did alot of Coke(free base) and tons of pills for many years.
Got caught selling my Dads Valiums over the phone to a friend...lolzz
I was a drug dealer for a couple years.

I graduated from High School...I probably didn't deserve to in all honesty.

I ran around with some pretty hard core people... rock bands, bikers, drug users, friends that I grew up with.
I was always getting into fights...and the police knew me pretty well...but seemed to leave me alone.

I decided to go into the Navy...to get away see the world.
I realized that was a mistake after I was in boot camp...lolzz
I had hair down to my ass...they loved cutting it off me.
Decided to make the best of it...and did well while I was in...and advanced in rank.
I found drugs where ever we ended up at.
Beat every piss test that was given to me.  :smirk:
I was a Navy Seal...btw.
Ended up in some very bad situations...and I don't talk about them much.

I got out of the Navy and had alot of job offers from the US government.
Jobs with the likes of the Secret Service, US Marshall, CIA, FBI.
it wasn't for me.

I never stayed with a girl very long...I liked the single life.
I was always very up front about not wanting to be tied down.

I worked as a truck driver for several years.
Then ran a loading dock for a freight company for a couple years.

I sobered up and quit drinking and drugging for many years...I still don't drink much to this day.
I only smoke a little herb and do some mushrooms now and then...if God doesn't make it...I won't take it.

Decided to go to a tech school for home heating and boilers.
Did very well...was 2 in my class.
Got a good job doing home heating...then got a better job offer from a Boiler company.
Met a gal that made my heart go pitter patter...my sons mother.
I worked at the Boiler company for almost 11 years.
I started as a Boiler Tech...and ended up in management.
They went bankrupt...due to the owner fucking over the government on bids and change orders.

My Mother got Cancer right after the company went belly up.
So I took care of her for 9 months...so she could die at home...rather than in a Nursing home.
I sold my home...and took care of her.
It was the roughest time in my life.

which leads to your next question.

Quote:

Enter: I understand you recently had a medical emergency and were hospitalized for quite some time. Is this news true? What happened if you don't mind sharing?

I had a heart attack 2 years ago...March 17th on St. Patty's Day.
I was devastated by my Mothers death...and I hadn't taken very good care of myself since she died in Aug. of 1999.
I pretty much let myself go.
I was smoking too much, eating food that was really bad for me, drinking too much soda pop(Coke)...over a case a day, and I wasn't getting out and doing anything.
My girl friend went back to New York to get a divorce so we could get married.
And she decided to stay back in NY...and she called me on the night I had my heart attack and told me she didn't love me anymore and that she wasn't coming back.
I had the heart attack while I was on the phone with her...while I was outside with the dog doing his thing(taking a shit) at 11 pm.
The shock of her telling me that she didn't love me enough to come back and my poor health was just too much for my heart.
She broke my heart...literly.
:frown:

Then I had alot of complications and was getting sick all the time...the flu was kicking my ass for months at a time.
So I left the Shroomery...and decided to clean up my life and get healthy.
And I did.

Enter: Let's talk shrooms for a bit. You live in a very good state for wild shrooms. Tell us what you've found so far in all you're ventures hunting. Also give us a few pointers for where to look if you're hutning in a city if ya don't mind.

I find Psilocybe cyanescens, Psilocybe stuntzii, Psilocybe semilanceata, Panaeolus subbalteatus, Psilocybe baeocystis, Psilocybe cyanofibrillosa, and several edible gourmet mushrooms.

Have searched for the Psilocybe pelliculosa with John Allen...and haven't ran across any yet...they are found in clear cuts.
Hopefully I'll find some someday!~

Psilocybe cyanescens(wavy caps) love alder chips...they are in parks and flower beds with alder.

Psilocybe stuntzii(blue ringers) are found in lush green lawns...usually that are well fertilized.

Psilocybe semilanceata(Liberty Caps) are found in cow pastures and tall grass.

My son and I love to go hunting with John Allen aka...mjshroomer.

Quote:

Enter: Is Roadkill a married man? Kids?

I am divorced.
I have had several long term relationships...over the years.
I have 1 son that is almost 11 years old...he is my pride and joy!~
I also have a 16 year old daughter.

I am involved with a wonderful woman.
She is moving in this week...so things are hectic.
She has several children.
I have no plans to rush into marriage...at this time.
But we get along like peanut butter and jelly.

Quote:

Enter: Work. All of us do it. Nearly all of us hate it. What do you do to feed thy tum-tum?

I am retired.
I live off a meger amount of money each month.
Thinking of starting an online business...no not spores!~
Nothing to do with mycology...promise.

Quote:

Enter: Pleasure. What puts a smile on your face consistently?

Lots of things bro!~
My son...looking at my son, turning out to be such a great young man.
We have a great relationship...his smile can light the Sun.

Nature...I love to go hiking and look at the beauty of our world.

Fishing...I love to go fishing...it relaxes me and I can be one with the outdoors.

My girl friend...she is such a beautiful woman...inside and out.
Her smile makes me feel warm and chit. lolzz

My girl friends daughter that is 4 years old...she shows me unconditional love.
She makes me laugh when she tugs on my beard.
I'll probably adopt her some day.

Helping others...friends, family, and people from the shroomery.
I get great satisfaction helping people learn how to grow mushrooms.
The excitement in their posts and pm's when they grow their first mushrooms is the best feeling in the world.
I helped my cousins re-build 2 "A" frames a few summers ago...that was fun!~

Quote:

Enter: We want the inside scoop on MJ. Is that guy nuts or what?

John Allen "Mushroom John"...aka mjshroomer.
Wow
What can I say about John.
John is one of the coolest people that I have ever met.
He has a heart of gold...and would never hurt a fly.
I love him like a brother.
I think alot of people mis-understand him...but that is their loss.
I am blessed to know him...blessed to have met him...blessed to go mushroom hunting with him...I am blessed that he calls me on the phone and talks to me for hours.
The mushrooms are truely his children...and his life.
The man is very intelligent.
He has had a very interesting life...places he has gone and some of the people that he has met.
Jerry Garcia & Timothy Leary...just to name a few.
Wow
I wish I could have walked in his shoes...just a little bit.

I really hate it when people give John a hard time.
They know not what they do!~

Quote:

Enter: Have you met any other people from this site in person? Who?

Queensryche <---know all of them.

Yeah...I'm on here morning, noon, nite and early morning sometimes when I can't sleep.
I wouldn't have came back...if the Shroomery wasn't important to me.
I really enjoy helping the newbies learn.
I hang out in the Pub a little...but most of my time is spent in the Mush Cult and Grow Log forums.

Sometimes I'm on here a little too much and other things don't get done...that need to get done.

I know some pretty cool older people.

My neighbor's are the greatest people...very cool...and they are in their 80's.

I know this one little old lady that is 101 years old...the stories and things she has seen and done...is very interesting.
I love to sit and talk to her.
She is very quick minded still...and is in very good health.

Age isn't something that should divide people...its attitude that divides people.
Cool people are cool people no matter what their age is.
Treat people with kindness and respect...and you will hopefully get treated the same.
I treat older people the way that I would treat a grandparent or my parents.
You can learn alot from them...and they can learn alot from you too.

We are all one!~

Peace and Love!~

Awesome interview Road. Funny though, as I was reading it, I knew what some of your ansewers were going to be. You're 3 weeks older than my Hubby and the two of you seem to have shared a great many experiences, yeah I like older men. Must have to do with growing up in a much cooler time. Hope everything works out for you and your new lady. Look forward to bothering you with my continued Noobie questions, Glad you came back, you have helped me out soooo much.
