as far as I can tell the screen doesnt work. Even if the harddrive was fuked i'd get the BIOS boot info...and I didn't see a thing. So the first one I'm not even going to buy...

Macintosh computers use OpenFirmware, you are not going to see any BIOS info when booting one up.

Some motherboards do this to an extent in windows/linux.

Like my ASUS K8N.

If you are going to buy one, but both and use the dead one for spare parts. On the dead one, do you get apple tone? Have you tried reseting the PMU and PRAM?

I pressed the little reset, triangle button thing. Nothing different happened. I held down shift while restarting, nothing happened.

I'm unfamiliar with macs.

You will hear the apple tone, then wait about ten seconds. When the white screen comes up release all four keys and you will get a > prompt. (if you get the spinning disc icon, you missed it... power cycle and try again) "

try doing that. apple option O F

Ditto
A second ditto for "buy 'em both."
If you don't want them, let me know. I'd be more than happy to fork over the 75 bucks + shipping.
