When I get some money together, I'm going mac.
but for now, it's xp/linux dualboot.

My take on it - only go apple if you want the hardware; otherwise, it's just going to be unix, running X, with Mac's DM and WM - so you might as well just run your free distro of choice - which brings me back to the original point - only if you want the hardware should you go with Mac :smile:

You can successfully take care of a windows machine and keep it running great if you are careful with what you do, and protect yourself. 

I'd recommend trying linux before going over to mac, maybe mandrake or fedora core 2 (I'm on FC2 cause i know nothing when it comes to linux).  But I'm saying this because I have a HUGE bias against mac :smirk:
