fucking AIM advertisements

Is it just me.. or does anyone else have this shitty THE RING II advertisement at the top of their AIM window that opens up a RING II popup window whenever you move your mouse over it?

Yes, gAIM is an open source, free multi-protocol IM client (you can use it for MSN, Yahoo, AIM, and more). Your buddy lists are gotten and everything.

As far as file transfer, I've not had trouble with the recent versions in AIM, but yahoo it doesn't like. Part of it is because the fucking bastards (AOL, Yahoo) keep changing the protocol to fuck with the third parties because they want EVERYONE using their client and getting their stupid advertisements so they get money.

FTP and HTTP file transfers are better anyway. Not to mention DCC over IRC.

i've been using this software for a couple weeks on top of a new version of AIM. it works great for ad-removal however the logging feature only works sporadically.

Oh, again, your mileage may vary, especially on Windows.  I love gAIM on *n?x it is absolutely the best, but when I used Windows I wasn't completely happy with it (many many versions ago).
