I know there are quite a few on here, I found some good news. Taken off their website: Opeth will be entering Fashination street studios on March 15 to record their 8th yet untitled opus. The band are currently in rehearsal mode, which is a rare occasion having recorded the last 4 records without rehearsing. The recording will be overseen by the uprising recording mogul Jens Bogren. As of today no names for production duties have surfaced and it looks like the next record will be a band produced effort. Nothing has been decided regarding who's taking care of the mix either so we'll have to keep you wondering. A summer tour of the US has also been confirmed and will be posted here soon as well.

I also read that they don't have a US distribution for the album yet and that they're shopping around for deals? I think that's correct
Anyway, yeah man, I can't wait for the new one. I used to be a metal head but drifted over to electronic but Opeth, Tool and Mars Volta are the only "hard" stuff I listen to these days. And with Mars Volta already releasing their album (which is amazing) and Opeth and Tool expecting to released an album this year, should be a great year.
Not to mention a new Shpongle and Entheogenic album as well.

Yeah, harder than electronic ambient music.

Fair enough. I was just being a bitch anyways.
BTW, I like the new Mars but it didn't do for me what their last album did or anythign what ATDV did for me. My $.02
