Bullshit. If only adults did LSD in the privacy of their homes you think it'd be legal?

U don't think it would be?  If u think everyone that used that those drugs ( - the highly addicting ones)responsibly and no harm for example O.D.'s ever happened they wouldn't be legal?  I believe it would be.  Why is that shit becoming illegal now? oh because some kids looked for high and used it wrong.  Plain and simple that bill would have never been sent if that didn't happen. If no complaints came in about those drugs or drug why would the government have a reason to make it illegal? They wouldn't.  We live in a society that people can not be trusted to behave correctly, kids do not have common sense and from what Ive seen a lot of adults too.  They become illegal because not everyone can be trusted with a substance that is potentially harmful.  I believe that drugs should be legal in a perfect society where everyone behaves and doesn't go stealing x-mas presents from under the x-mas tree while on coke(gf's brother did this).  But since that society can never exist they should be illegal but pushing the bill for these drugs even for me is really absurd. Next they will ban nutmeg, my drug of choice.

my gripe is with banning plants. personally i dont mind banning substances and extracts, but banning a plant is where i draw teh line. sorta liek peyote in canada...that i can live with.

priz. anyone who knows ANYTHING about canada KNOWS this place is jsut as shitty at times as the states is. people get on tehir high horse here and say "well at least we arnt as bad as yanks". fact is, we are. our gov lies, steals, and cheats us as much as any other. the one big diff perhaps is we dont start wars so much. we just profit off the ones the south starts.

moral of the story. canada sucks too.

and yes 4 rcmp officers (they are like cops should someone not know, and they dont all ride horses...) were shot and killed at a grow op. there is more to it, the guy was a loon and according to the news had a big problem with police. its all about the place. ive personally smoked in front of rcmp officers and talked with them. while in other areas i have been searched for smelling like it. it all comes down to the cop. im sure there are cool cops everywhere.

the laws in canada have decriminalized pot, not legalized. for possesion under x amount (think its hald ounce???) is a fine (which they have never given me...they just take it). i believe it to be the same for up to x amount of plants for personal use. im not really to sure. in my tiny hick town the clear cuts are loaded with grow ops and i would bet every 1 in 5 houses have a large grow. the cops here just dont care. more money in speeding tickets than grow busts.

hum, well whatever at least most laws make it illegal to only use the substance and not to grow it.

Poop well whatever, it is not like extracting dmt is childs play or making ayahuasca is either. Actually extracting chemicals from plants in general is a total PINA. Even growing weed and trimming the buds is a PINA. Most people would just want to buy X drug and not go through all the work to get there.

I don't see the point of these laws at all. Some of these plants take as long as a fruit tree to develop. Fruit trees take 10-15 years to mature!!!!!! I mean come on, kratom takes years to get big and havest enough leaves to even get high! Same thing with Salvia D. This is rather ridiuclous actually. Some of these plants fall into "exotic" meaning it takes someone with some experience to grow. What a total insult to the gardening community of rare plants.

The US Government bans every plant and drug.
For legal and illegal drugs, there's always irresponsible users.  Illegality has NOTHING to do with responsible drug use.  People OD and abuse Tylenol for fuck's sake.

It's just like everything with Americans, even if provided with proper usage documentation, we don't read it.  "My back's really fucked up after work, I'll pop 8 tylenol."  Or, "If this plant is LEGAL and makes you trip, I'll take a shitload of it to REALLY TRIP BALLS!"  Half the country barely reads anything anyways or takes the time to really read how something works in the first place. It's ignorance that is killing America, and stupid politicians are catering to this attitude.  They treat an average citizen like a stupid person that needs to be protected from themselves, and marginalize the smart people in society.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.  Stupid fuckin humans screwing it up for everyone else that uses responsibly.

ya thats pretty true it see,s. "responsible" users have probably come on teh net and read about things. so depending on what substance it is they have probably stumbled onto places sellign it, and or how to grow it yourself.

personallyi think growing your own highs is teh best way.

Re: Glad I'm not in Louisiana [Re: kadakuda]
    #3910727 -

me being from lousiana, i am completely outragged. this is a complete infringement and violation of my personal and spiritual rights. kadakuda, i'm on the same page with you on making plants illegal. no one has any right, whatsoever, to proclaim that a plant is in violation with your beliefs and government. you are not a god and you have no right to commit botanical genocide. sythesized drugs and extracts are a different story but no human being has any right to ban a plant because it has psychoactive or mood enhancing properties. this is the most ridiculous ban on ethnogenic plants i have ever seen. it is just another inquisition of organized beliefs. i have gone through many rediculous and, flat out, stupid hardships by being a lousiana citizen but this takes the cake. i have made up my mind, it is time to move. believe me, i would love to protest against this terrible act but lousiana has one of the lowest percentages of people to use shamaic plants and fungi (most people here use illegal drugs and are completely ignorant to the culture of shamanic botanical application), so a protest wouldn't serve much purpose. they need to focus more on their failing education system, the crack and heroin epidemic, the busted and unkept roads and highways, the fact that new orleans has one of the highest murder rates in the country, the poverty, the corrupt politics, the garbage flooding the streets, and all of the other reasons lousiana is in such a horrid state, than the minimal use of psychoactive and shamanic plants, cacti and fungi. believe me, these are not the reasons this state is in such turmoil. my decision has been made, i am moving to another state. though the united states itself is slowly decaying into a nazi runned concentration camp, lousiana is by far the worst of all it's states. this is by far the worst news i, as a louisiana citizen, have ever come across.

and i remember hearing about those kids that died. personally i think they deserved the death they experienced. you should always research anything before putting it in your body. commen sense should tell you that. if they weren't intelligent enough to understand this, they clearly weren't intelligent enough to live a resonsible and well life. it's not the plant's fault for them dying... it's THEIR OWN STUPIDITY AND IGNORANCE!!!! and to ban the use, possesion, and cultivation of other ethnogenic plants ,than that of datura, is foolish. i have never heard of any of those other plants mentioned as being the cause of a death or poisining here. why in god's name, ban all of them? and don't be surprised if other states follow in their footsteps.

so will ordering these plants from ethnoshops rule as being illegal? are ethnoshops no longer going to mail orders out to lousiana? they listed psilocybe, are they refering to syringues or something?

But if you read on line 21 of page two, it says "Production" includes manufacture, plantings, cultivation, growing, or harvesting of a hallucinogenic plant.

Yes except in cases where it can be shown that it was "strictly for aesthetic, landscaping, or decorative purposes."  Add some mulch and a waterfall, some pretty pebbles, read up on landscape architecture.  Make it look nice.

as a side note lousiana is the only state in the nation that dosent have common law, where legal precident is important. it has some french/anc, ient roman system of law, i cant remember the name of it but it is very very different from what the other 49 states have. instead of the importance of precident it lays the importance on the actual wording of the law.

http://la-legal.com/history_louisiana_law.htm

probably has some basis on this law im sure

Whatta' buncha' backward ass moronic hicks! LMAO! They don't even truly define the legality of these plants. You can't grow them but wait... Go ahead, grow these demon plants if... You grow only to look at them! Sounds like they are sayin' go ahead and grow & have fun with your plants, and here's how to do it with our approval! LOL!

Legislators and politicians kill me! These fools have their heads so far up their collective asses they can't even smell their own feces! LMFAO!

On behalf of us New Orleaneans, I want to say that we could care less about some fools bill. We do what we want, we play how we want. How many people are gonna know what a Caapi plant looks like, or Mimosa hostilis tree? And WTF is galangal root doing on there. Can't eat Thai food any more.

I resent the 'backward hicks' comment. One shouldn't make blanket statements like that. Only morons have such little sensibility that they consider the people in power as backward hicks. Yeah, these hicks will have you backwards. Best you don't come through these parts. You'll prolly make a right on a left street and get busted and spend the next six years here on possesion. Or you'll turn into one of the projects and have to wear a barrel after.

I'm from Los Angeles and I never have had to hang out with backwards hicks here. Self satisfied alcoholics galore, but hicks, naw, they commute and don't live in the city. So get bit. And get wise.

I love this city, and with all the gardens people would be hard pressed to identify their toes in the weeds let alone some esoteric plant species. But if they do I'm fucked for sure as I have them all growing everywhere on my property.

Exactly. And even if they knew they have to prove it's for human consumtion, growing it for ornamental value is ok. If you are a consumer of one of the ones that don't contain controlled substances, just grind it to a powder and then they can't identify it. The bill is completely toothless, it is more the mentality behind the bill that's a cause for concern, even for us not in Louisiana, or the the US for that matter. But then again, I think it is too poorly thought through to fly anyway.

Whoa! Easy fellas! I wasn't talking about yous guys. I was making a comment about the mental processes involved with making such an uninformed and ignorant "knee jerk" decision such as these legislators have... That bill will amount to nothing anyway because no thought or effort was even put into it.

I live in the South myself(not to mention I was raised down here). And believe you me, there is a lot of ignorance about town. But I'm not foolish enough to think it's confined only to the South eastern/western U.S. of A.

Don't take my comments sooo seriously! I wasn't commenting on the citizens of La. only it's governing body and it's "knee jerk" reaction to an isolated event.

Jeez!

Touchy, touchy! Testy, testy!

Lighten up doods... :crazy2:
