Post your musical instruments

What is everyone playing these days?

Here are my two pieces, a homemade PVC didjeridoo and a small Djembe drum. I am a novice on both but have alot of fun playing. I havent mastered circular breathing yet, but I can get out some nice tones.

How big is that djembe? I'm getting a 12" tall with 7" head for my birthday that has the steal your face logo engraved on it.

Not really instruments, but I love them all the same:

Great posts everyone, glad to see all the musical talent out there

The djembe drum is only about 8 inches tall and has about a 5 inch head. Here is another shot of it, I got it on ebay a few weeks back for $35cdn.

I own a large (crappy) Remo Djembe, and I was given a really large djembe (40 lb, really heavy wood, the head is probably 14 inches) that was hand crafted in Senegal but it needs to be headed when I get some goatskin. I have access to a about 3 digeridoos, a JunJun, bongos, a conga, a couple smaller djembes, a doumbek, a darbuka, ocean drum, and a native american drum, an accordion, several flutes, a piano, guitars, a banjo. I only play the drums and the digeredoo, and all of these instruments are located within the house in which i am currently living.

My dirty bass

The strings are about 1 and a half years old and I play it every day. It has a really nice action (how far the strings sit off the fretboard) So that you can play totally relaxed and soft and it also has a chunky slap sound.

I might replace the strings soon, mmm new string sound *drool*

these are some older pics, and the rig has been rearranged some, but you get the idea

this is my 1906 Foster & Son upright - it sounds like crap, but hey, that just means its great for playing ragtime

i have a crappy electric guitar that's a totally rip-off of some special gibson they made, it's purple and has the shittiest whammy-bar set-up, plus it goes out of tune.

also have a really nice hand-made classical guitar.

also a 70s church organ (crappy), a nice steel-string, a trombone, a violin, a big heavy djembe, assorted harmonicas, and 2 plastic recorders.

also, a sweet jaw harp. you may know them as jew's harps. Jaw harps are really cool. I promote them.

Your classical guitar wouldn't happen to be a Hirade would it?

I'm not much into making music, except the sax I played in middle school band, but you guys got to check out this guys instruments:

http://www.bentstruments.com/

It's some really weird stuff. He'll take kids toys, and bend the circuits to make musical instruments... keyboards, theremins, speak and spells, etc. He's a cool guy and does work cheap.

nope, made by David Sugars in Vancouver. It's the 6th guitar he made commercially. It's pretty damn good, although I think he was rushed at the end and got a bit sloppy with the finish

I'm not really serious about the keys, I just mess around with it and learn a few tabs-- maybe write a few. I'll get a better keyboard if I get a little better.
