The mycellium will start out looking like little white fuzz in the first 24-48 hours it is noticed. Within a couple of days it will spread and become a dense white color. The cob will likely look sort of grey if it is in a dense mass or very whispy and much like spiders webs if it is spreading accross the surface of something. Is what you are seeing showing up at the innoculation points? If so it is likely mycellium. Give it a few days.
