Can you be more specific?

The formation of an "American Union".
North, Central and South America united in a Union.
Have a currency to the effect of the "Euro".
The European Union (EU) is a family of democratic European countries, committed to working together for peace and prosperity.

Do you reckon American countries are politically similar enough for that? I doubt it. Even if they were, you'd never be able to implement a single currency with the huge differences in economies you have there.

I'm not saying it would be easy to do.
Unification in/of diversity sounds good to me.
Just seems like a natural geo-political progression.
Only the Americas should get it done quickly and soon.

America's debt problem is a "sign of leadership failure"

We have "reckless fiscal policies"

America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership.

Americans deserve better

Yes, America would benefit from this and so would Canada a few other select latin america countries might. I can not see what the majority of South and central american governments would have to gain from this or why they would join. Besides filling the pockets of the elitists of course. It would be political (and seeing how things sometimes get done in LA in the past, literal) suicide. The trend in South america has been to move away from economically binding their economies with N.A. with trade agreements (like NAFTA or the upcoming FTAA) and neoliberal policies that have not served the masses well in the past. Their is a political movements right now to isolate North America and to create intra-south american trade agreements like MERCOSUR.

I think there is no way this will happen in the next decade or two. If anything, we will see trade agreements in Latin America that will specifically try to exclude North american influence while creating a more unified south america. This kind of thing will be fought tooth and nail by any American administration red or blue but I have a hunch in the end we will find ourselves father apart than closer together.

"And we, inhabitants of the great coral of the Cosmos, believe the atom (which still we cannot see) to be full matter, whereas, it too, like everything else, is but an embroidery of voids in the Void, and we give the name of being, dense and even eternal, to that dance of inconsistencies, that infinite extension that is identified with absolute Nothingness and that spins from its own non-being the illusion of everything."
