Help w/ wet spot please
    #382665 - 08/31/01 09:28 AM (22 years, 7 months ago)

I don't even know if I'm using the correct term(don't have Stamets book handy right now). I have some uncolonized grains which have kind of a brown greasy look. If this is the contam Stamets mentions, is there any way to save the cake? They're still in jars, could I case them w/ peroxided verm?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try cutting the contam out of the cake. Case what's left. Spray a solution of 1 part h202 to 9 parts water onto the cake, and use this solution to moisten the verm. that you will case with. Mist daily with this solution.

yeast isnt really a problem - wet mold... It can coexist nicely with mycelium - but you want to cut it all away and case it - spray it as Shiznitz suggests
