well, ive been hearing alot about this honey tek thing and ive decided i might give it a try. too bad i aint got no honey!!! any substitutions that will work? i got some butterscotch flavored syrup, will that work? why does hony work? maybe if i can find the source of how it works i can mix up something that will do the same. i doubt that the mycelium just likes honey for the taste.

You can use malt syrup or maple syrup. Steer clear of anything with processed sugar. (sucrose)

AC the free honey from Mcdonalds works great. next time you go there jsut ask them for it tell them you like it on your fries if they give you a hassle.

Ive read straight non-alchohol beer works,or reg beer if you boil the alch out. beer is made with malt and malt is suposedly best thing to use...MEA... but if honey is hard for you to get then non-alch beer is probably a lil harder :)
Anyone here ever use beer?

pure sugar cane works very good, you can use also light beer, malt extract, potatoes broth.
