just peat moss???

and just use this above and below the cakes with water???

you can use just peat moss, or peat moss with lime. lime keeps out contams.

Mix moss with water until moist, put in a baking tray, cover with foil ( tighty), bake at 200 for one hr, let cool, aply and spray with water and h202 to moist.

Try coir (coconut fiber).  Just do a search for gro-brick with a search engine and it's available through many online stores. :smile:

Not only peat moss. There's a good substitute you can use with peat moss, get a pingeon food bag as a mix of various rocks, it has crushed oister shells, silica and other porous rocks. You can find it at allmost any pet store, i just looked at it and felt "right" about using it.... and i was right ;)) .

If I remember correctly, Fanaticus suggested using Perlite as the bottom layer of a casing; he said it was better than verm.
