yeah, I understand the original question of the thread. I was replying to your statement likening the arabs to nazis. My jewishness in this case would at least grant me some form of understanding being that when you grow up jewish you are surrounded by living reminders of that holocaust. Arabs are not NAZIs. It's those kinds of broad generalizations that get people into these messes in the first place. If my zayde was still alive I'd ask him to tell you that just in case you were still confused.

Nazis exterminated Jews. A lot of Arabs want to exterminate Jews. That similarity is undeniable. Not all Germans were Nazis and not all Arabs want to exterminate Jews. But, in '67, the leaders of their nations tried to. Similar enough, if you ask me.

And my point about your Jewishness not necessarily conferring understanding was followed by my pointing out that not all Jews agree. They don't. Some are hawkish and brave, some are doveish and brave and some are self-hating, hand-wringing apologists and some are just plain cowardly. Like all peoples. Just because you're Jewish doesn't mean you have a clue It doesn't mean you don't either. It is a non-factor and confers no degree.

Doesn't it help that they have the bomb and how they got it is pretty gray in the first place?  Damn near every state in the world wants to buy one but Isreal managed to somehow. :shrug: I'm sure most Arabs assume the US gave it to them whether thats true or not.  Even syria can figure out not to invade a religious state with the bomb

Maybe they do (heh heh) and maybe they don't (heh heh).  What is incontrovertible is that they didn't use any and still managed to bitch slap vastly greater numbers with only their own troops.  That's what I mean by heavy lifting.

The only similarities you can find are a desire to exterminate jews. Like I said before, that supposed desire (which is not a universal truth btw) comes from the fact that Israel is a religious state, and therefore it is logical, but not necessarilly fair, that Israel's crimes be associated with the jewish faith. If Israel was secular, they would simply want to destroy Israel itself. There is an obvious correlation here.

NAZIs, on the other hand, implemented a state sponsored relocation and genocide program based on discrimination, fear, misguided information and pure fanatasy. And the NAZIs always had the upper hand. This is not the case with Israel.

And the fighting in '67 may have been provoked by Egypt, Syria and Jordan moving troops near Israel's borders, but Israel fired the first shot. The mother of preemptive wars you might say. And since it was not the first time Israel had attacked those countries, self defense was a plausible reason for all those troop movements. You might be thinking of the 1973 Yom Kippur war, which was an attempt by Egypt and Syria to take back land that Israel captured and occupied during the '67 fighting.

The similarities go a little further than a simple hatred for a different ethnic group. For instance, they both hate the same group and they are both willing to murder members of said group. I also did not say that the Arabs were Nazis.

I've had enough of this. Your reading comprehension and reasoning skills are such that it is senseless to argue with you.
