 Need Help On Amanita Drying Tek

I have some trouble when trying to dry Amanitas... It seems quite hard to dry them quick enough,so that they dont turn black (rot?) in some places or the entire body.(not the stem).
I tried to dry them in the sun. Would warm air, cool air,desiccant or any other way be better??? How do you do it? Please help me as soon as possible, since the season is very close........what if i cant get to town fast enough? would a fire help me dry them? Last year, i crushed my (half black) dried Amanita chips, and ingested the powder with no problem, except of the most horrible-terrifying taste on earth. Is this normal? Do you drink urine too? I recently came across an article, that claimed that drinking urine after consuming this holy mushroom, is not only done for economy reasons, but for the lower toxicity of the total amount of substance that the body has to metabolize..... eeehmmm .... i am ready to do it... just say so ;-) Ancient shamanic tribes cant be wrong....

While I personally would not recommend eating Amanitas ( or drink urine, unless maybe it was Carmen Electra's, and that would be to only see where it comes from), I think there is a tribe or group of people ( in Siberia ?) that do the urine thing.The elders ( or maybe it was the women, I can't remember exactly) eat the amanitas or drink a tea,then piss in a cup or bowl and the young males drink the urine in a rite to pass into manhood (personally I think going to a strip bar when you're of age is a better choice).
As for drying Amanitas, placing them in a paper grocery bag in a warm dry area works well, except the caps sometimes will stick to the paper.Threading the mushroom stems with string, then hanging them up in a very warm dry area seems to work better. That's what use to work for me anyway.I'm sure there are better ways than my suggestion.
Whatever you do, make sure you fully understand the possible risks involved when dealing with muscarine, and the other chemicals that amanitas may possess.

I might try hanging them in a warm place....sounds like a good idea... i would like to hear what other people do also though!

i wouldn't worry about "not getting back to town fast enough" i mean, unless you are going to be more than a few days, u'll be fine. the fastest i've ever seen a shroom rot was 3 days, under exceptional circumstances of stupidity.
The way that i typically dry shrooms is to park my car in full sun with the front 2 windows cracked about a half inch. Now before the car gets monsterously fucking hot, get some printer paper (you know the kind in your computer's printer tray) And lay some shroomies or AM's flat on the paper and stack as high as neccessary. Typically the temp in the car wont go higher than 120-140 F, so no potency will be lost, because they dry in a matter of hours.
DO NOT DRY IN AN OVEN.... if you have no idea how to do it, the margin of error is far too large!

Thank you Uv1 and shellacct for you tips... slicing the Amanitas must be a good idea, since the evaporation surface is that way larger thus faster evaporation.
Using an oven kinda worked for me in the past, but i need a tek ,that can be done in the forest. :) How about a combination of hanging and slicing? Actually shellaccts "car tek" is also good, but i think it works better for other than Amanita shrooms, since the last have incredible amounts of water in them and require more than a few days from my experience in sun drying them....(not very good tek since worms make their appearence/Does anyone what those worms are?? they are not green like mine, but always white and always the same in amanitas...WTF?)
Considering the fact that i have also crashed my car (intoxicated by the raw mushrooms and weed due to ignorance) during an Amanita hunting trip, makes me obligated to seek for MORE DRYING TEKS! Please shroomerites! Help me on this one!!!! Imagine my self slicing 100 or more Amanitas into little bits, and hanging them on to branches!!! well , there must be a better way to do this.....(i wonder if there are enough branches for this combination tek,lol) Come on you Amanita-headz! :) GIMME YOUR TEKS!

oH! aNd Something else! ANY INFO ON THOSE WHITE WORMS AND WAYS TO GET RID OF THEM WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.....from my experience, ALL Amanitas contain(?) those worms i am talking about, and in the drying proccess, even if there is no sighn of worm -penetration in the holy shroom, they show up, with consuming-appetite...please solve the worm mystery if you know the truth.....

hehe.... i don't think anybody feels sorry for you for having too many AM's. If you are going to be in the forest, i'm guessing that hanging from branches and such is most likely the best you can do in the middle of the woods.
