 Starting karate tomorrow

I used to be in martial arts when I was like 12 or 13, got pretty high up there too, but ended up quitting.
Now Im just lookin to get my lazy ass some exercise, and occupy my time which ive been having a lot more of lately.

I dont think they offer jujitsu in alachua county.
The place Im going to might be a kung fu school. Im goin to find out tomorrow, but whatever it is, its all I got

wow, is it really that bad? I mean I dont really know much about the subject but I was under the impression that karate wasnt completely useless.
Anyways, with a little research I did find a place near me that offers kung fu classes. Hopefully they dont make you sing a contract

A 3 year old who watched one chuck noris movie could beat up a black belt of karate in a real fight. So yea karate is that bad.
I would go for muai thai, brazilian jui-jitsu, or drunken boxing(best one).

What i said might have came off bad, but nothing is completely pointless. But there is so much more that is more fulfilling, than karate.

Muay Thai is great, ive been doing it for about 12 years now and is really good for self defense and fitness. Quite brutal but i like it that way

karate is pointless for a number of reasons
1. It's for sport fighting.. i.e - points.. i.e - you will only be able to fight other karate people with karate
2. The movements and techniques are inefficient
3. It is limited to the max
4. It goes by a belt ranking system, which is bullshit, which you only basically have to pay for the test and you pass - anyone can be a black belt in karate.. 6 year old girls even
5. Karate is useless in real fights
shall I go on?
basically you would learn maybe two useful things from karate.. kicking hard and how to stretch. Then you would learn a entire system of inefficient fighting which you would have to reprogram from yourself later.
Kung fu is a far superior martial art in every way.. if you can do it.. go for it. You'll thank me later. Or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.. Muay Thai.. Jeet Kune Do.. just stay away from Karate and Tae kwon Do.

Muay Thai, kickboxing, boxing, and ju jitsu are your best bets.
