I quit Karate.

I went to kenpo karate twice and have decided it's not for me. I didn't like the rigidity involved, the tension...I was actually more tense when I left then when I came in. And there's SO MUCH structure. I just don't do well with a lot of behaviorial restrictions because it gives me anxiety. So I was getting paranoid everytime I went to class and feeling like I had to tiptoe around and bow constantly to the black belts didn't help.

Yoga is more my speed. Kundalini style.

Im only posting this because I heard an outcry for more posts.

Yeah, I figured it would be one of those type of threads where people didn't know how to respond. Oh well, I'm going to bed soon anyway because I have to bike to work to the morning (six miles).

I don't think I get my deposit back for karate either.

Too bad you didn't stick with it long enough to karate chop those motherfuckers until they gave you your money back.

Tell me about it...those black belts were pretty intimidating though, all flying through the air and punching and kicking one another in the face and shit. And I did pick up a few skills in just two classes.

Good post.

I prefer Tai Kwon Do as it involves discipline, but from within.

I was never disciplined by my instructor.
