I still don't get what the deal is with them. Can anyone tell me what the difference is, in terms of effect?

Just another thing, I was wondering if I should go for the old cubensis (.63% cybin .60% cin) or try azurenscens (1.78% cybin .38% cin)...

psilocybin breaks down into psilocin in the body, from my understanding. so its ultimatly the same thing.

read somewhere that converting psilocybin to psilocin is where the effect takes place. not sure, i need to research. maybe someine out there knows for sure

The main difference is that psilocin breaks down a lot faster than psilocybin, so if you're planning on storing your shrooms go with strains containing more psilocybin...yeah, and psilocybin turns into psilocin in your body.

the chemicals do differ in their solubilities in various solvents - distilled water, acidic water, alcohols, organic solvents, etc...
so brewing a tea from them could give differing results (ummmm, i think that psilocin is less soluble in water than is psilocybin; not sure about acid solns such as white vinegar or dil. lemon juice...)

solubilities are prolly written up in "the literature" somewhere...
dr. shulgin states that the phosphorlyloxy group is enzymatically removed right quickly once in the body...
