Need suggestions about peroxidated agar

Yesterday i've tryied for the first time P-agar.
Since i can't find malt i used amaranth-soy agar and honey agar.
Well, i mixed, sterilized and waited to the 2 bottles cools to 50?c.
Then i mixed the peroxide and poured...and the mess begun.
the amarant soy agar condensed on the sides of the bottle while pouring, and with 500ml of agar i poured only 4 plates.
a bit better with the honey agar, less dense, with 150 ml i poured 5 plates.
Probably i should forget about amaranth-soy agar, at least for peroxidated use...
any advice from the peroxiexperts (no i can't use malt agar)?

It sounds like your agar cooled too much when you added the peroxide. I like to pour the plates hot and add peroxide to the plates as they cool. Mix the agar and peroxide by slowly moving the plates in a figure 8 motion.

Use less agar. Rush Wayne recomends using up to only 12 g per liter instead of the standard 20 g, I had good results with 15 g per liter.
Also different formulations require different amounts of agar for the same firmness.
Secondly, buy a better agar.
Bacteriological agar from sporeworks or mycosupply has an geling temperature of about only 35?C.

thanks anno, i think that amaranth-soy flour agar is just too solid for a peroxidated use.
i tried with honey and everything went good.
