honey water tek contam

can someone show me some pictures of any? im worried about shooting up a bunch of jars with contamed myc. Also I find it real hard to put the honey water in the PC without cooking it too long. All the honey sticks to the bottom. Any comments suggestions?

sorry that i cant show you a pic of a contamed KARO jar, but i will help you the best i can. this is the method i use for karo and im sure it will work for honey also. if you have any questions just ask.
take a pf style jar (one with holes in it). put 2 tsp. of karo in it. boil about 130 cc's of water (allow for the evaporation). once the water is boiling pour it into the jar with the karo in it and place a layer of saran wrap on it real quick(your going to need to have 3 sheets already cut),the heat will kill any initial bacteria, screw the lid on real quick and then place the next two layers of saran wrap on it. place in the fridge to cool down. once cool lift the first layer of saran wrap and inoculate with 1 cc trought the first 2 layers of saran wrap then place the third layer back on. and place in incubator. once ready to inoculate suck it into the syringe shoot back into the karo jar real fast to mix up all the mycelium, and then suck it back into the syringe and into the substrate jar. this will help reduce the chance of contams because you will skip the amount of time it takes to germinate the spores. i have had 100% success with this technique.

yeah it wil work fine. i just like to get the clearest stuff i can find that way its would be easier to see a contam. but honey works great, ive heard.

I'm perdy sure I have some with contams here, I'll take some pictures, they should have contams anyway, I've left them in my incubator for like 2 months.

yes defiantly, throw that shit away. you should only see white chunks or spit colored globs.

Oh it was real nice lookin awhile back, but I just left it in the incubator without adding any H2O2.

*head drops* actully, I was too paranoid about contams to use it. :frown:, but its no biggy, Have you ever tried the tek where you shoot sterile water into a colonized jar then shake it like a mofo and then take it out? I would think that is a good way to do it.

yeah, but I find it kinda annoying shaking the water around with the syringe still in the hole, do you think taking it out, taping it then shaking then flaming the needle, then putting the needle in and sucking back the water would be a good idea? I think it would be more effective that way.
