magits on my shrooms

hey anyone know if these little maggits on my mushrooms that appear after a couple days of having them freshly pick are harmless if you ingest them with the mushrooms.

maggots should be fine to ingest. I used to eat maggots when I was a kid.

well becuz i rather not eat maggots but if they won't hurt me at all then i will eat the shrooms which they are in some of them i can get off but some are in the mushroom iam also wondering what the best way to keep them after fan drying for about 24hrs. so that the maggots don't form.

when you pick your shrooms carefully wash them off, you'll get rid of maggots that way.

Sounds like you're waiting too long to pick your shrooms.  If you pick them when they're fresh you won't have to worry about eating dried maggots :tongue:

Oh yes, and the only way you can have maggots is if flies are landing on your shrooms... is your grow chamber not closed between fannings?

these are fresh from the fields, which are like an hr away from me to get to my point i tried washing them off basically nothing is on them for the first two days then today i look at them an theres tons of maggot. Anyway if i used damp ride after fan drying for like 5hrs. would the maggots still form.

Consider it as extra protein, disgusting as it may bee.
In the worst case you will just end up with a tapeworm.

Thats pretty nasty man, how could you eat something like that.

Its not normal to have maggots in your shrooms, I dont think anyways, but eating maggots in the shrooms is just obserd..

You can always just get some more clean ones, and eat them proper the way I would.

Correct me if im wrong about the maggots, but I would never eat them.

it doesnt really matter about maggots, theyre quite common on wild shrooms, just fucking wash them off and end this conversation.

Grubs are an important food source in primitive cultures around the world.  They may seem disgusting to us, but they're perfectly safe to eat.  The only thing with maggots is that they tend to grow in putrid rotting organic material, but in this case they're growing on mushrooms which he's going to consume anyway.  Don't worry about 'em, they're just a little extra protein :wink:

What's the matter DXM, you don't find the thought of chewing a fresh maggot or two appealing? I find most small insects to be very crunchy, nutritious, and more importantly harmless.

You only think that because that's what your culture has taught you. Eating maggots, insects and other bugs is a very common practice all over the world, and many people do not think twice about such things.
