I was wondering if anyone knows of a good herb, that strongly helps with getting back onto a regular sleep patern. Lately i haven't been getting enough sleep, and its really affecting me. So i was going to try something to help me get back onto a regular sleep routine again and get a better nights sleep.
thanks for the help

You should be able to get 5-htp or meletonin at any health food store. Not herbs, but natural suppliments that help with sleep.

Herbs that aid sleep-
Valerian Skullcap Hops Camomile Black Cohosh
Most health food stores/organic markets/etc. have bulk herbs, I'd say look for the first two and make a tea from a spoonful of each. They certainly won't knock you out for the night, but they'll definately help you ease into sleep and stay asleep longer. Hope that helps!

Camomile always worked pretty well for me, i recently saw a book about it, that mentioned it cures more than 300 deseases. also... ...aloe vera (cactus juice) helps you tune your biological clock very well. (health food store)

Weed used to help me sleep, but I got my body and mind accustomed to staying up late and smoking all night, and let me tell you that even after a night of partying I have trouble going to sleep if I'm high.
If I'm drunk, well that's completely different. Then I just pass out on the couch.

try exercise. go jogging around the neighborhood 3 to 4 hours before you want to crash out. come back, take a shower, and hit the sheets.

Valerian & kava, sumtimes disagree with alot of people. If you are under alot of stress, then maybe look at easing that first by taking things to help you cope such as high B vitamins. If you have taken alot of shrooms, lsd, e, or meth, then it is likely that you are lacking in the serotonin department, whcih means u wil also be lacking in the melatonin. Sumone suggested 5htp, that would be excellent, otherwise a homeopathic, Avena Comp. before trying anything else tho, make an effort to watch the sunset as the reminds the body that it is time to wind down & raises the meltonin levels Sweet dreams

This isn't an herb, but the supplement known as GABA has always put me right to sleep. Kava worked to a very small degree. Melatonin worked also but I remember reading that there were possible negative side effects and I would rather not play with my hormone levels. It usually just results in your body down regulating its natural production.
