hairy stems

hello, i 've got hairy stems.
i read an old post that says hairy stems are signs of high humidity, but my caps all have fuzz on them too, which is supposedly low humidity. thats as much as i know about hairy stems.
my question is.
when harvesting these things should i cut the stem at the hair, leaving this with the cake, or cut the stem off at the cake and take the hair and all?

can the cake use the bottom half of a chopped stem if it is covered with mycelia?

No, if the caps have fuzz on them your humidity is too high.
Overall, your humidity is too high. Fan more, entertain your air :laugh:.

yeah, fuzz on the shrooms is a sign of high humidity, not low... Like brownPastures said, fan more.

thanks. thats awesome i dont hae to worry about low humidity anymore, but tell me;
when i chop these mofus off the cakes should i leave the hairy bottoms of the stems, will the cake be able to grow more from these hairy stumps?

No , do not chop the fruits off. Try to pull them off of the cakes as cleanly as possible. Old stumps are good ways to contaminate your cake. Basicly, they will rot and mold over while new flushes are trying to come in. So, no slicing and dicing.

I have a smilar problem i have 1 patch that has 6 mushrooms comeing up there is 1 right in the center that needs to be picked. however the other 5 need another2 days or so. would it be ll right to cut it real close for a day or 2 untill the toehrs are ready? or should i jsut leave the one that is ready there for a few days more?
