Iran flexes military muscle

Washington accuses Tehran of trying to acquire nuclear weapons. Iran says its nuclear program is aimed solely at producing electricity. Bush said, "I hope we can solve it diplomatically. But I will never take any option off the table." Don't forget, Iran has always been apart of his so-called "axis of evil." Bush also said he wouldn't rule out military action. Why were we cursed with such a horrible president? I'm afraid we have reached the beginning of the end of days.
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050118/ts_nm/iran_usa_dc_12 I usually try to ignore current news, as I usually wind up feeling depressed after viewing. The state of the world is so depressing it sickens me. Oh well, " whatcha gonna do." What do you people think?

If Bush takes military action against Iran (and I wouldn't put it past him ), we are in for a world of shit...

And he would most likely be on his own... I don't think anyone would want to follow him in a war against Iran...

He can just divert money from education, subsidies to Medicaid and other social programs to his "cause". After all little kids, poor and sick people don't vote, anyway. Then all he has to do is grossly exaggerate the problem ten fold, as he is wont to do, and he'll have all the support he needs....

You think that ever stopped the U.S. from going to war?

I've been saying this. Iran is Step 3 in the PNAC plan to establish the USA as a dominant power in the Middle East. Afghanistan was Step 1, Iraq was Step 2, Iran will be Step 3. After the Middle East war is in action watch for Bush to push for military action in Korea. Multiple wars in multiple theaters, that is their goal.

I have a sick feeling you're right. Bush can just play off the fears of the average American (as he has so successfully done before) and get all the support he needs. Plus a nasty little multi-theatre war would divert the public attention from the general sleaziness of him and his cronies who are making big $$ off of this mess...

Yes, but consider this. He was practically alone before we attacked Iraq. The only people who supported him were ignorant Americans and Tony Blair. There were no WMDs(which to me, was always blatantly obvious) so he lied to the entire world, including his country. We didn't have money before, never stopped him; I forget what America's deficit was before the Iraqi-war, I'll post when I find the link.

[being sarcasm] I'm all for war. Anyone notice that whenever we need cash to go fuck up some poor brown people somewhere all of a sudden the price of drugs plummet and the quality goes through the roof. I hope we invade Canada next because these blue women that are circulating are amazing and we need hockey to start up again. [/end sarcasm]

In my opinion, by the end of Bush's 2nd term, a few things will have happened... -We will have invaded North Korea, AND most likely Iran -The deficit will be even more out of control -Gay Marriage will be outlawed -Rowe vs Wade will be overturned and abortions will be illegal The worst part of his re-election, in my opin, is that he will all but definitely get to appoint the new chief justice of the supreme court. That's so bad.
