Corn Cob Slurry

[In a dream I imagined that...]

10 days ago I decided I'd like to try that corn cob slurry tek. I followed the directions exactly except I used 2 jars instead of 1 (I figured it would colonize faster). Here I am 10 days later with 5 pounds of wet corncob completely covered in....yup, you guessed it - cobweb mold.

I was just going to try again, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had luck using that method? I love the idea, but my first try has me extremely doubting it. I'd say the bucket is 98% cobweb mold and AT MOST 2% equador mycelium...yuck!

Update...

Turns out the cakes I used did have a little cobweb mold on them (oops, must have missed that) oh well, now I know why.

I'd still like to hear about anyone else's experience with this method...if there are any. heh...
