If wet, paper bag in the refrigerator should work. If dry, keep them in a cool, dry, dark place.

Really fresh mushrooms from the store typically remain fresh in your refrigerator for 7 - 10 days. Of course, how long any particular mushroom will remain fresh depends somewhat on the species. And most of the mushrooms you find in the wild are probably not going to be as young and fresh as the ones you buy at the store. So you should probably assume that they will last somewhat less than 7 - 10 days.

Be sure you keep them in a brown paper or waxed paper bag, not a plastic bag. The mushrooms are alive, so if you seal them in an airtight bag there will be condensation, and the extra moisture promotes rotting by bacteria. The result is that your mushrooms go bad faster, and you increase the probability of food poisoning.

Happy mushrooming!

hey guys,
try THESE! these bags are absolutely the best way to keep your vegetables and mushrooms fresh, in the fridge for 2?3x longer than usual. i've been using them for years. they're plastic but have a tiny membrane that allows the moisture to slowly escape.

and they're reusable.
