yeah, those pics rock.. where's that cave?

i haven't been caving in a while, myself, but i'm starting to crave that feeling you get when you go underground for a few hours and then reemerge at the surface.  i like it the most when it's spring or summer, cos of all the life blossoming above ground.  it's very refreshing.. and fun to get muddy.

got any pics toiletduck? im hardly a caver...im a hiker with some caving gear.

this cave is on vancouver island BC. we got over 1000 known caves here on the island, some are underground river systems (that you can actually walk through) some have some pretty cool limestone things, wont even try and spell that.

i agree summer is best! this place was uber cold!!! that last pic i was in the water my feet got frost bite. didnt plan it out to well, but its so fun. there were 3 mushrooms growing about 150 feet in! pitch dark and theres mushrooms! only 3 but still. their mycelium must have stretched down from the surface, its not a deep cave as far as we went.

I'm pretty much the same. Most of my caving equipment came from Walmart. As to pictures, LucidDream has them all, but he went caving in a vagina and hasn't returned.....

kindkesey, those rocks look pretty much the same as the ones here.  tehy limestone?

i didnt go to that cave prep'd at all...wasnt planned out was jsut driving and remembered tehre was a cave tehre.  so i showed my buddy   your smart, you bring pads and helmets.

things like head lamps and that i think walmart is fine.  ive given up on the good quality things like that cause tehy always get broken or lost.  i jsut buy lots of $15 type headlamps and go from there.

anyone here ever been up to artlish caves or horne lake caves on vancouver island?  ive been dieing to go to the former!!!

heres some links of caves around my area, should anyone care or be from around here.

Pretty cool, nice pics. I would get a little claustrophobic in caves probably so I might be better off sticking to hiking. Looks like a fun thing to try out at least.. no caves or mountains for hours around here.
