If Gandalf can do all these summoning moves and shit, then why doesn't he in the movies?

I haven't really seen most of the third one, and don't really remember the first and second one, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't do anything amazingly hardcore which results in huge amounts of things dying.

Not as much as Yoda could anyways.

But Yoda like owns the force. He can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants. If Gandalf the Gay summoned a huge flamming tornado, yoda would just push it away with his mind, probably right back at him. I've never seen Gandald the Gay do anything that was all that impressive, though he says he can. The guys all talk. Magic aint shit compared to a twacked out super-grimlin with a light saber.

Gandalf man. Let's see what Yoda would do against a Balrog- probably get stepped on by it. Gandalf would just use his ancient powers to knock the saber from Yoda's hand, and then kick his ass.

You do realize that Gandalf DIED defeating the Balrog? He just got resurrected because he had a T3 to LOTR's GOD.

Yoda, on the other hand, can Force-push just as well--and in my honest opinion as a fan of both stories--probably better than, Gandalf. Besides which, Yoda is trained in unarmed combat. Gandalf is not. Yoda wins.

Don't you realize that Gandalf and Yoda are the same archtype powerful old man figures and if they both existed in the same story they would destroy each other just by both being there.

Edit: But if they were to come together in a non-cannon battle, it would be yoda that wins. Here is why. The LOTR dvds are all out, so a gandalf win wouldn't move units. Since there are still star wars projects coming out, a yoda win would move units. So, yoda wins.

It's a question of range, I think. If the fight started outdoors at a decent range, Gandalf would have time to get a spell off and win it. But if the fight started at a range of less than 25 feet or so, Gandalf would get diced before he could even brush his beard out of the way to speak.
