wick humidifier

i read some were you shouldn't use one of these because of contam problems, this is all i have is their a way i could make it work with out the risk? maybe a little bleach in the water?

peroxide maybe. I use alittle in my Vicks.

speaking of humidifiers, i have an ultrasonic that leaks water like a mofo. Has anyone had a similar problem and if so, how did they fix it?

the water tank on the top lifts off the base. the rim around the base leaks water. I could silicon it on, but then i have no way of adding water to the tank

You could silicone it on and drill a hole in the top for adding water...thats the only solution I've ever seen for that problem but people have done it a number of times.

I used a wick humidifier for a while when still using a cool mist without problems. I added h202 to all water that ever went in there. Bleach would probably break down the spongey wick...even after a few months of just h202 water the wick had mostly "dissolved" (lack of better word) and was shit.

i could drill a hole, yes, but would that effect the output capacity? I have a hose running into the output that is piped into my martha.

my humidifier has also been an absolute nightmare. I haven't seemed to find anything to keep it from leaking. I'm hand spaying right now 3-6 times a day, and it's been keeping the humidity at a steady 85-90%. It helps to get a bottle with the finest mist possible. Just remember though, when hand spraying the CO has to be cleared from the tank around 2 times a day. I've been using the cool setting on my hair dryer and just sticking the back end of it in the tank twice daily.

No it wouldnt affect the output capacity.
