question about cool mist humidifier

I'm wanting to use Shroomgod's Cool Mist humidification technique here:
here
he says not to get an 'evaporative' humidifier, nor one with a wick. The evaporative part is easy enough, but my question is about the 'wick'. All the models I have looked at have a circular 'wick' filter inside. It appears as though the resevoir feeds into a bottom tray. The filter sits on the bottom of this tray, and it looks as though it 'wicks' up the water, and the fan above disperses it into the air.
My question is not really whether this filter truly counts as a 'wick'. I'm nearly positive that it does.
The problem is that I can't seem to find a Cool mist humidifier which doesn't use the wick and isn't evaporative. can anyone help me out here??
Brands? Stores? How does it look inside (I won't hesitate to open the package in the store ) without the wick?
Any help greatly appreciated

does it have a spinning disk inside it with a tube running down into the water?
The tube spins, and has rifled edges inside that suck the water up to the disk. Then the disk spins the water out and makes a really fine mist.
the wick type they talk about are literally a fiber wick material that sucks up the water and a fan blows across it. Kinda like blowing a fan through a wet washcloth. The reason you don't want a wick, is because it can harbor contaminates, and you don't want that.
THIS one is a true cool mist. It contains no wick. http://www.drugstore.com/qxp44918_333181_sespider/vicks/cool_mist_humidifier_with_aircleaning_filter.htm

thanks for the info. Ya, the ones I looked out had a fan with the wick. There was one that had the fan, the wick, but it also had a tube running down into the water... I take it I want to steer clear of the wick/fan models.
Another question, if I do get a wick, is there any way to treat the wick to prevent mold/bacteria? I guess I could add H2O2 to the water, or maybe soak the wick in it? Will this still lead to contamination?

yes i have the same question, could you just add some H202 into the water and run it into the tub?
if not then could u at least humidify the area around the tub with some H202 in the water?

I use one of the wick types and an ultra sonic humidifier. The one with the wick is basically only for FAE, have it set to come one 6 times a day for 15 min. It sits outside my FC and is connected with a hose. The ultrasonic one is right inside the FC.
I don't add any H2O2, but it did come with a little floaty ball that was supposed to prevent bacteria.
Cheers, JJJJJJ

This thread has been closed.
Reason: I have no idea what you're even asking now. Your question was answered above and has been answered hundreds of times in posts that can easily be searched. Use an impeller type coolmist, not a wicking type. RR
