casing problems
    #1271801 - 02/02/03 06:53 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I am a relative newbie to the shroom cultivation, but have studied it quite extensively (ala FAQ's/Forums/etc.-shroomery) in order to avoid many problems. I have cakes that have kicked ass with their fruits. But no matter what I try with my casings, I can't seem to get the kids to pin and fruit!!!!! I got some excellent advice earlier to some questions, but it would be kick ass if anyone could give me some quick reference steps (from after casing the substrate to pinning and than fruiting) as to what they did to make their shroomies wake up. My kids are Equador's and PR's. Here are my parameters after casing: (verm.,peat, oyster, limestone)
-- Temp.- 74-78 degrees.
-- Rh b/w 82-92%--usually about 88%
-- terrarium (10- gal.) w/ air pumps, Rh guage, wick humidifier, filter hole at bottom for CO2 dispersion
-- 4-8 hrs. light/day.

-- ANY SHROOM GODS OUT THERE WHO COULD HELP ME?????!!!!!!!!!!!

wait longer it can take up to 14 days to show pins. also RH pre pinning should be around 95% unntil you see pins then go down to 85-92%. also most humidistats are way off unless calibrated.

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.
