caps getting wet/moldy when trying to make print!? * 1

What is happening and how do I stop my caps from becoming wet/ moldy after I place them into a sterile jar while trying to make a spore print? I have made a few successful attempts at getting my caps to drop their spores but recently they have turned black wet and moldy. Any suggestions? Comments?

1. Remove Cap from stem
2. Place cap atop paper, foil, etc.
3. Cover with jar
4. Let sit for 48 hours.
5. Print should be done.
