Oyster Mushrooms
    #356208 -

Anyone have experience growing oyster mushrooms? I'm interested in growing them, though from some of my research I've read that it's common for people to have allergic reactions to their spores due to the large amount they produce. Is this type of allergy typical? Thanks.

Check out these babys that sprang up out of some old hardwood mulch in my garage. You're right, they do produce a *lot* of spores. Covered about 12 square feet of the floor in front of them with white spores so thick you couldn't see through them. Wild. No reaction to them, though.

I have cultures and prints of them if you're interested. The prints are as clean as I could do given the circumstances.

Eat them before they get to the spore producing stage. They start to get tough as they mature. Plus, you won't have to worry about spore allergies either. :)

Impressive pics! These can be grown on a sawdust/bran substrate as well, correct?
