rubbing alcohol will either be ethanol or methanol - i'de give the pharmacy a try....

It's sold as HEET gasline antifreeze, in a yellow bottle, at almost every gas station and grocery store in the US. However, this stuff has impurities in it so it would be a good idea to distill it before using it in an extraction. Alternatives would be to use a different type of alcohol like everclear, isopropyl (highest concentration available, preferably 99%, i got this stuff at Big R, an agricultural store), or maybe denatured alcohol from the hardware store.

no, rubbing alcohol is not methanol... its isopropyl alcohol..

you can get methanol at hardware stores... denatured alcohol means that they either added methanol to it or its mostly methanol... i cant remember ATM

yes denatured alcohol is ethanol (drinking alcohol) with 4% or so methanol added to it so it's poisonous.

You're extracting? Damn dude, try to get that shit as pure as possible and then post the trip report. I'd love to hear what, if any, differences there are between shrooms and pure psilocybin.  :goodluck:

Good luck, although I don't understand why people would want to extract cubes. Cubes are SOOOOOOO easy to measure as is. Grind 'em up and cap 'em for a less messy way to serve a dose.

Meh... still... could be fun.
