Pre Flush?

If you don't cover up the early mycelium that pokes through the casing, that's what causes the non-uniform flushes...right? Spanky neglected to cover up the first signs of mycelium in his casing...now he has pins and shrooms of all different sizes. 2 veils broke, then 4 broke about 8 hours later. There are still quite a few pins on the casings. Are the 6 shrooms just early blumers, and will there be plenty more popping up? My question is....are these pre-flush early blumers, or will there not really be any 'flushes', but many different shrooms of different sizes for a while, as opposed to getting first, second, third flush?

Pick the big shrooms and see if the small ones are getting any bigger.

This happened to me a few times during my first attempts growing. What I'd do is pick the largest ones, and then wait a day or however long you need to wait before picking all of the remaining ones, completely cleaning your cakes/casing. After that you will get pretty even flushes.

why do you need to pick them evenly? i always just picked the ones that were big and let the small ones grow. this was growing invitro too so its not like they were in perfect conditions either.

Why would It make any difference? Just pick em as they are ready to be harvested..
