Bad Idea?

Spanky noticed some green/teal/blueish mycelium on his cakes. He doesn't remember ever being rough with them to make them bruise blue, so would it most likely be trichoderma or something similar? Would it be a bad idea for Spanky to leave it in the terrarium with the other casings and cakes, or should he take it out and bury it in the ground somewhere? The other cakes are just strarting to pin, but this one still hasn't.

Do you mist your terrarium? Is thre moisture on the lid of your terrarium? If yes to either question, the "blueing" is caused by water coming in contact with your cakes. You should not have mold problems unless the "material" turns an obvious green.

He doesn't mist, he uses perlite humidification - there's usually 95%-98% humidity, with an average of 80 degrees F. There is precipitation on the walls of the terrarium, and the cakes are set directly on the perlite (they were really dry). If it is contams, then they could easily hop 2 or 3 inches and infect the next cake or casing? "Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. You don't need to be "rough" with cakes to make them bruise, I've had them bruise while still in the jar. If your worried give it a good shot of peroxide water.
