Hip's Bulk Tek

I am trying 2 different teks and would like your feedback...

Can you put the oven bags (Hip's Bulk Tek) directly in the terrarium after the spawn run (is 10-14 days still sufficient)?

I have been using MMGG and plan to case the cakes in a 9x13 metal pan then place in on top of a layer of perilite (all within my terrarium). With Hip's Tek - should I move my mycelium network from the oven bag to another metal pan or will the mycelium be ok in the oven bag (also in the terrarium)?

I remember this tek being discarded a while back because it's entirely too unreliable. I tried it myself and it always contaminated on me. I have a hunch that the oven bags are too permeable and let everything and their dog in to live in your substrate.

If you want to try a bag cultivation, get some spawn bags and go with those. I've never had a problem with them. After they've colonized you can case the mycelium just like you would your cakes.

Hi Maria. Im just a dang ol unexperienced new be, so maybe
that's why your question looks Greekish to me.:tongue:
If youre saying can you take a clear plastic bag full of spawn
and put it in a terr - i guess youre gonna roll the top of the
bag down so its like an open sack - thats probably cool, id
be wary of pins forming below the surface since your bag
is transparent though.
Also cakes need more humidity than casings so maybe another
cheap plastic terrarium for the casing would make more sence.
