Hell yeah! If there was enough job opportunity around I'd definitely move into a community where other shroomerites live. Awesome people with the same interest, hell yes!

It would have to be a private island though, to avoid any laws.

Your not going to find a Job on a island or in the middle of the forest or a corn field. But if there was a town to move to with roads and infrastructure. Then there is a chance that there would be a stable financial structure. To many people have just set up camp on some land or woods. It only lasts a few years.
I think it would take a real commitment to Community. A non-profit legal co-op and recycle a small run down town. We could start a artist community, tourists attraction, or nature attractions. Educational committees and other non-profits etc....
A team of real fund raiser's and people who are deeply commited to a community within the structure of the real world but with a real pressured need for change. Then once one small town is recycled then 2 then 6 then 60 then the world is changed. etc.....

I'm not really down with "a real pressured need for change." I'd rather just set up a community in the woods someplace, and live free from some of the constraints of our society.
There is a need for business and income, but several intentional communities have managed to overcome their difficuties and achieve long term viability.
This is one of the more open of the old and successful communities: http://www.thefarm.org/
A list of some of the extant intentional communities (some are newer than others, some more successful than others) can be found here: http://directory.ic.org/iclist/cmtylist_A.php

None of those communities are all about getting high That may be a part of it but they are in this for the bigger picture Well if the idea is to hide in a closet and smoke joints then those ideas are good. But if the idea is to set a precedence for real change in the world then it must be handled in another way. I am not quite sure what the idea of this thread is all about ?

Me neither.
Somebody said he'd like to buy an island (I don't think it's practical), You said we should make an organization to fix the world (I don't agree - people should handle their own business), I said I'd like to be part of a group of people to move out in the country and run our own community and business.
I don't think anyone is going to kick your ass for stepping out of line, here.

LOL I hope not...........My ass is sore already
Moving into the counrty side and sharing the bills and keeping the outside out can happen. But the reason why "The Farm" has been around for 30 years is a lot more than that.
I think a bunch of people who move to a farm and grow food, weed and mushrooms and drive to work will end up busted.
