Jellric, are you stating that a spiritual teacher should be infallible?

I have never dictated to you to do anything. I have never commanded you to follow me. I have never pretended that I am somebody specially sent from above to deliver a message to you. I am nobody's postman: I am simply doing my own thing.

Right or wrong, I am simply doing my own thing. If you feel that it is enjoyable, you are welcome. If you feel it is not worth your while, you are welcome to drop it again. There is no problem in it. It is not enforced on you.

Then, on a shopping trip to The Dalles, cult members sprinkled salmonella on produce in grocery stores "just for fun."

Nothing quite like a thick grilled salmonella steak with garden veggies.

No, but I do believe people should be held accountable for their actions (which in Baghwan's case involves luxurious spending, orgies , voter fraud, immigration fraud, drug addiction, and the largest case of bioterrorism in American history).

This isn't even close to perfect.
Don't you think we should expect an eentsy weentsy bit more of our "spiritual" teachers?

Not if you look at history as a guide.

Does it help humanity to have people running around raping and pillaging?

who says that you have to help humanity?

No, but I do believe people should be held accountable for their actions (which in Baghwan's case involves luxurious spending, orgies , voter fraud, immigration fraud, drug addiction, and the largest case of bioterrorism in American history).

and whats the with matter doing these things?

This isn't even close to perfect.

how do you know what is even perfect?

Don't you think we should expect an eentsy weentsy bit more of our "spiritual" teachers?

why? they don't teach anything, just share what their own truth is you can either accept it and try and learn from what they have shared or not accept and let it go.

i said, "just look! if this is so dependent on the methos, then nothing has happened. it is just an illusionthat you are creating continously remembering. this is nothing but autohypnosis."

I asked this previously: "Would you rather be happy and joyful in a false belief or have have no such mental crutch and be subject to the much wider range of emotional swings and moods while still searching?"

On paper, the general consensus was to go 'for truth', but many of these same folks get angry instead of thankful when someone deconstructs a pet false belief.

you would have to define all false beleifs. because what you might think is a false beleif might not be anothers.

I have a number of books by Osho, I find them extremely difficult to read. His writing style is cryptic and seems like it "tries to sound deep" for lack of better words...

Regardless of his history, I find his writing damn near useless and therefore will not consider him a spiritual guide or any other kind of guide on my life, as he has not offered any beneficial product to my life.

That being said, anyone want to buy some books by Osho? :P

Have you checked into worshipping :devilguy:? He doesn't really teach anything, you can just take it or leave it.

There are no consequences resulting from following his teachings either.
No. No consequences at all.

Some of his earlier writings are pretty good, but once I learned about him being a charlaten, it kinda put a damper on things.

It's interesting how they've repackaged the ole' Baghwan, even changing his name to Osho posthumously and turning a dead man into a money-making machine ala' Elvis. But some of us remember the original product minus the slick packaging and feel the need to remind people lest we forget.

^^^ His name change was not posthumous.

I, actually, find Osho's writing some of the most down-to-earth interpretations of Eastern mysticism. I think he carefully pulls the veil aside to reveal the Mystery, actually.

Well then, I have some books with your name on them... because I can't follow his cryptic writing style at all. I need a writing style that is more akin to how people talk in everyday life to be able to comfortably follow it for long.

Yes, yes...and Rajneesh (remarketed as Osho like recycled garbage) was one of those Indians who espoused an Aryan pride that viewed Hitler in a favorable light. According to what I read, he held newbies in quarantine in a house on the periphery of the ashram for 10 days. Supposedly they were being screened for STD's. Moreover, they wore striped uniforms like the ones we see concentration camp inmates wearing in those Nazi documentaries. Like the Mansonoids, sex was a great lure for many. Rajneesh took over an entire town in Oregon before he was deported. Just another hierophant from Hell.

if ya want somebody who write pretty much like "just folks" talk (& who still could qualify as being somebody who has at least had a "glimnpse behind the veil" (& was not intersted in "copping people's minds" or setting himself up as a little tin god like osho ("bhagvan IS god" - a quote from one of his innner circle of devotees, back in the antelope (oops, i mean rashneeshpuram) oregon days...)

anyways, for an american who's been down the path (since the early 60s, easily) --- check out stephen gaskin...
