Definitly one fucked up mind at work here. When I watched it TOOL came to mind for some reason. Well worth checking out!! Wouldn't watch it trippin though.

Hell yea dude, scifi is one of the best channels! Yesterday and today they had nonstop kick ass shit on. Frank Herberts Dune was amazing and so much easier to understand the second time around (the first time I started in the middle of movie 2 and was confused as shit). Sometimes the stuff of exposure is goofy, but other times its some of the most profound short filmage ive ever seen.

I definitely agree with Beatnik on the porn thing. A friend of mine and I checked into pretty scummy motel to hide and trip all day (we took 5 hits each). Lo and behold, directly wired into the 14-channel cable was a Porn channel, though it was staticky at times. It gave me a very bad vibe, and I was thoroughly disgusted (normally, porn is not shocking to me). LOL maybe it was because we had the TV turned upside down at that point.

Natural Born Killers - one of my favorites, but I felt very destructive after watching it. Not a good one to watch.

Yellow Submarine - A silly movie at best when not tripping. But probably the best ever made while tripping.

Also, watching insects (that really are there!!) crawling. Very disgusting and bad-vibey.

I almost forgot - Sesame Street. Can be good or bad. One of the animated segments I saw while tripping included a snail that had found a shell. The snail kept poking its head into the shell, out of it, into it again, etc. Not sure what the moral to children was in this one, I could only concentrate on the fact that it looked very sexual.
Another segment included a lady that had a hot dog attached to the end of her nose.
And snuffaluffagus (sp?) is just plain rediculous and worth a thousand laughs.

I find that if you watch porno it just gets boring.... i was readin erotic stories waiting for shrooms to start once and i didnt even notice they were working until my friend sent me a message on icq and the letters started to wave ... after that i couldnt finish reading the story...

The Brothers Quay can be good and bad. It's stop motion animation and was copied by the lady that made the tool video. So for all of you that thought that Tool vid was so original, it wasn't. The Brothers Quay shorts are much better too. Check em out.

Umm, there are 5 different stop-motion videos by Tool (Sober, Prison Sex, Stinkfist, Aenema and Schism) , and they weren't made by a lady. They were made by Tool's guitarist, Adam Jones. You may be thinking of Floria Sigismondi, who has directed videos for Marilyn Manson, David Bowie and Tricky, using stop-motion in a limited capacity.
As for Tool's videos not being original because they use stop-motion, I guess then you would say the beatiful art on a clay pot (just an example) is not original just because someone had made a clay pot before them.
It is how you use the medium to present your idea, not the medium itself, that matters.

That is completely off target and absurd. It's a typical statement from someone looking for an excuse to exercise their uneducated knowledge of aesthetic terms and concepts. Give me a little credit here buddy. Being unoriginal is not just doing something that someone before has done. It's not giving credit where credit is due. We all have our influences. Just remember what/who they are.

Oh, I get it. So you are saying that Tool never gives credit to (or as you put it, 'remembers') their influences? That - is an uneducated statement. They often acknowledge those who have had an impact on them. Maybe what you are looking for is a big font at the beginning and end of each video saying "TOOL WAS DIRECTLY INFLUENCED BY THE BROTHERS QUAY TO MAKE THIS VIDEO"? lol.
I dumbed my post down to simple terms because you seem like a pretentious fool that likes to point out things that don't matter. I'm pretty sure everyone is well aware that Tool didn't come up with stop-motion or every single one of their concepts (though apparently you think that Tool claims they were completely original). I know everyone has seen Gumby before. lol.

Dude, I'm only 19, not an art or a film major.
The fact that the video is stop-motion is not what bothers me and that's not what I was calling unoriginal. Just go watch the brothers quay and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks for keeping things so simple. I woudn't want to get lost inside your vast sea of knowledge. This argument is ridiculous.

I don't recommend watching old family videos. Personally, they just send a wave of guilt through me. But I'm a recovering Catholic, so guilt is sort of second nature to me.
