i understand that mycellium respiration will produce beads of water on the inside of a pf jar. after moving some jars close by an external heat source where they stay a constant 80F i noticed that tiny water droplets were forming inside the jars regardless of wether that area was colonized or not. my question is, will this evaporating water leave the jars easily (of just go back into the BRF/Verm), and if so will it affect later fruitings due to a lower overall water content?
any help appreciated...

This is normal. Just keep the lids a little loose to allow for adequate evaporation. If it gets really bad to the point of no return and you start to see yellow spots forming where the water droplets are (this is water damage), it's always safer to just birth the cakes early and let them finish colonizing in the grow chamber.

Yes, in a dry climate, you can easily bake your jars dry.

If you have a dry verm layer (you should). Turn the jars upside down for a while ane let the water drain into the verm. The verm will help wick the excess water away from the cake. As far as fruiting. I always case. Your cakes will draw moisture from the casing.... At the very least, double case your cakes with a little verm that can be misted up until pinning begins

and thanks for the info puscle...
is this likely tho in my situation?
everyone talks about incubating jars at 80 or so, so it must be fairly common to have this happen?! thanks!

Yeah, think about it. If I put something wet near something hot, it's gonna dry out. Very common mistake. I incubate at 85 degrees, but that's in a humidified incubator. You can use a cooler or a terrarium with perlite for humidity.

Nothing wrong with those water droplets unless it's severe. If anything, it's a good sign that your substrate is not too dry.

i find a regular camping-style cooler works great for colonization/incubation. its dark, mostly airtight, and retains a more steady temperature. a little perlite is all you need. just be sure to fan every now and again.

hmmm it is official... too hot not enough humidity...
patches of mycellium have died of dehydration is what it looks like onlt the ones that were closest to heat source.
