Wbs Q
    #3423355 - 11/29/04 02:18 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

Hey,
I'm rather new to Wbs but I've read up enough to give you a head ace. I think i read up something about a water ratio or something in terms of what you put in the jar before you Pc. Well I've done brf and their ratio's something like 2:1, Sooo my Q is;

Is there some special ratio that I'm missing out on?

Thankx

Heh, thankx. Well i read somewhere about some ratio but i'm not sure which part it was talking about, the mix in the jars or for the simmering.

There is no ratio. You need to soak your seed, then simmer it. Simmering allows the grains to hydrate to their maximum capacity, any more water beyond that is excess and should not be there.After simmering you need to drain very well, the grains should not be dripping at ALL. What I do is spread all the grain out as thin as possible on a towel and it drains much faster.

so what do more people use
no simmering
http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/24332

or simmering
http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/26004

also there seems to be no real answer about removing "floaters" or leaving them in during the soaking stage.

O Floaters are basically no help to your grow and the only harm they do is waste space. I figure you might as well take em out so that the space they take up can be replaced with something that will acually colonize. Gl all, later
