i'm married yeah...life is great...studying at school for a masters and living in finland. a bit cold at the moment but otherwise i prefer finland to london :smile:

are you still pursuing the culinary profession?

well... i got the degree back

i still love to cook... and am still very good at it... but nobody can seem to give me a shot to prove it...

i was set up to go back to London after graduation for a pretty good job...

obviously, my plans for employment didn't work out... :wink:

like i said.. now i'm just trying to go my own way... i'm tired of working for other people... especially since i'm usually a much better chef than they are...

i doubt there's much more excitement than getting married.. but, by chance?

any new tats?  or just the old 'twatoo' as you used to(or maybe still do) call it... :wink:

i hope everything goes well for you later on in life i seriously do...i wasn't aware that you had a felony until i read this thread...it would be nice if you were able to live in london and got a job there, despite the fact that it's so bloody expensive...it is the best city in the world!

going to a university for new media...funny enough getting a tat soon...one in braille of my husband's name hehe but yeah just the twattoo, the tribal dragon on my arse :grin:

i'm not really sure that working for someone else in London is exactly what i want to do anymore... although, if i was given the chance right now... i'd be all over it...

otherwise... i've pretty much concluded that the only way i'll ever get to where i want to be is to do it on my own... my own business...  and i'll have it open w/in 5yrs...

until then... alaska and the NW is looking nice... probably try to line up a job in seattle for the majority of the year... w/a few months off to work in alaska for crab and/or fishing seasons.  working in alaska is something i've wanted to do for the past 6yrs or so, anyways, and considering that i've really not got much to lose right now... i may as well go for it...

speaking of new media.. i was accepted to a school in san fran for 'new media' a couple of years ago, and would like to actually attend at some point... it was actually called Xpression Center for New Media... unfortunately, i couldn't foot the bill...

sound engineering would be my major... music production, that sourt of thing... i've messed around w/ home production a bit... but i'd love to be able to do sound for movies and/or live productions.  ever since working for a sound company and beginning to dj as a hobby/part-time job, i've really wanted to pursue the more legitimate and long-term side of the industry...

anyway... this is getting long...

i'll have to get a few pics of my most recent tats up soon for you guys to check out. i put 2.5 new pieces on in the past 3mo... and am pretty well on my way to getting my full back and short sleeves finished. 

next up... chest... ouch.

at the moment i'm doing sound production..and i highly recommend it if you're interested in it. the new media field is pretty broad and some areas you can't even get work in cause everyone and their mom has skills in it...sound production is one area you can definately get work in at the moment.

it's pretty easy too...i'm learning pro tools and the theory behind music but once i learn pro tools to know it in and out..hopefully i'll be useful somewhere

yeah u definately have to get some photos of your tats :smile:

and yeah go to school in sf for new media if you have the opportunity...getting your foot in the door is a nice chance to move on up

i've studied music theory in the past and have worked with pro-tools, logic, reason, acid, blah blah blah... plus i've worked with designing and setting up live sound for concerts and 'electronic music events'(yeah, raves)... i just couldn't foot the bill at the school i wanted to attend...

see... my plan as of now is to get my money and set up my own business... it will be a combination cafe/music store/recording space... and if the opportunity is there, i'll probably carry some clothes as well(hoodies, t-shirts, etc)... what i really want to do is set the space up w/ 2-4 recording stations for local bands/djs/producers to lay down tracks and cds. I don't want it to be like a label... i will have no say in what they record... i will just provide the place for them to record professionally, and offer my services as a production consultant, i guess. plus, there would be a normal record store with listening booths... each table would be equipped with headphones for listening to cds or records... (i picture the tables as looking sort of like the old sit-down arcade games from the '80s)... and i would serve simple, but good food... probably along the lines of gourmet sandwiches, salads(soups in winter), wraps, and that sort of thing. If i do end up setting up this shop in a place like seattle or san francisco, i will probably also lean towards organic and vegeterican fare...

but, now i'm giving away my entire business idea... ntt that it's entirely original, but i think it's a bit different from what you regularly see...

^^ my version of good/evil.. and the start of short sleeves... each side will eventually have abstract sky behind it going up over my shoulders to the top of my back and top of my chest... then morphing into things that represent the good/bad of my life... i'm still ironing out the details w/ my artist, though.


^^ this is the sketch for the tat on my upper back... i just couldn't reach w/ my phone to get the current look. so far i only have the outline done... but it was a 4.5hr outline... color should be done w/ 2mo.  It stretches shoulder to shoulder, up to about the top of a collared shirt on my neck, and down a little under half way on my back...

sorry for the quality.. they look a bit distorted.. that's a cell phone camera for you...
