a european arm of Al Queda is claiming responsibilty, although it hasn't been confermed. They are claiming that it was in retaliation to Englands role in Iraq and Afganhastan...which makes me wonder why other countries like Canada aren't being targeted (thankfully we aren't) Apparently Scotland Yard did warn Tony Blair of the attack.....

I'm trying to analyze my feelings here. I think that it's easy to be uncaring in something like this because we are removed from the immediate situation... For example if I were there in London, I think I might feel differently.
Then again, if I lived anywhere near London, I would of gotten the fuck out long ago... I mean Amsterdam is like a hop-skip and a jump away from there!
And I never rule out the possibility that the actions were taken by someone besides who they are being "claimed" by... i.e. the government itself.

No matter who did it, however, I think we can all agree that it's not justifyable. If it was indeed done by terrorists, I can understand where they are coming from, but why can't they target corrupt politicians instead of innocent civilians? What the fuck is the sense in that? The government as a whole doesn't give a shit about the comman-man... what good does it do to target them? All it will do is bring down more and more security measures, in other words, more and more of our privacy and freedom to do as we please will be taken away, giving the government MORE power. It's counter-fucking-productive.

I'm not going to say that sometimes, in order for your voice to be heard, extreme measures is a bad thing. I think sometimes that unconventional steps must be taken in order to get your point across. But not shit like this, killing innocent people, who have nothing to do with the main problem. All this is going to do is get all of the big time asshole politicians up in arms, and make matters worse for the situation in the middle east. World leaders are "denouncing" these attacks (obviouosly ) but what are they really going to DO about it?
They're raising the terror levels, which in reality, does jack shit except spend tax payer money to put a few armed men in clear view.
