. I remember a post where someone merely wrapped their logs in heavy duty plastic garbage bags and left them in a garage and had great fruiting the following season. I didn't look too deep in the post, but are you sure those are lucidum? The ones out in the woods could very well not be true lucidum/reishi, and might actually be perennial, and even if they're not, the odds are pretty good that they will survive a freeze [they've been going through it for thousands of years out there]. Ganoderma in general are some of the most resilient mushrooms out there, especially once the mycelium is established. Other folks who live in 'hard freeze' areas might have some input here. . .I've only played around with reishi logs here in the balmy PNW; we're lucky if some snow even sticks.
