Oysters on logs
    #1978904 - 10/04/03 02:00 PM (13 years, 2 months ago)

I would love to be able to grow some oysters!!
This area is loaded with cottonwood and alder. I know of two white oyster logs in the wild that I was hoping to harvest this season, print, and learn how to grow.
Anyone please help me to get on the right path? Teks, suggestions, ideas? The rain should be here this week and I'm looking forward to all that the rain promises.

I'd probably make a print for the library, clone the mushrooms, isolate the strain, then commit it to sterilized, distilled water until late winter. Run plug spawn and cut logs in late winter. Inocculate logs as soon as ready. Fruit by fall.

Yep, sounds like a good plan.

Cool. Does the Shroomery index have the teks to proceed in this manner?
