It's probably easy I took some off a norway maple and drilled some holes in a plum stump put som mushroom in, waxed the holes and had reishi growing from the plum stump the next year.
They grow in north america, I find them often on oak in areas that have oak trees that get mower damage done to the roots.
Do a search on this forum for Reishi with Una as the username for how to cultivate.
-------------------- Keep growing.

Reishi grow wild all over the Pacific Northwest and are also quite easy to grow at home. Several companies that sell mushroom kits have Reishi kits available. You can also purchase the spawn on dowl plugs and make your own Reishi stump or log depending on where you live.

Reishi is very easy to grow, indoors or outside. If the culture you use is strong [haven't found one that isn't ] a number of ways will work well. This is a pic from a log in my garden that was inoculated with birdseed; Yep, just crammed the seed in the holes. The culture was originally from a Fungi Perfecti dowel.

Dowels themselves are a better/more reliable way to go, and this is a great source:

In GGMM there are some great techniques for using supplemented sawdust, the advantage being quick turnaround time indoors. . .outdoor logs only produce with the seasons. Best of luck, it's a cool one!

no, not sure. we got split off and lost from the guy who checked people's baskets at the end. these were they:
he was around when we picked them, and saw them i think. lots of people gathered a load of these, mostly younger fruits though. the guy said earlier (before we got lost from the group ) that they should be cooked well - maybe we didn't cook em enough.... or maybe he didn't see them closely and give them the all clear - were they something else?
